To Aunt Betty and all the Barrus families, Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Uncle Ed was a great man who loved the Lord and his greatest joy was to bring someone to the Lord to be saved. I enjoyed working at the church with him for 6 years. He loved his own family and also his Church family. Thank you Lord for giving me the time I had with Uncle Ed. John and I always appreciated his prayers for us. He is missed so much. Our Love goes out to the family and may the Lord help you in your grief. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

This man right here SAVED my life! I don’t think he even knew the impact he had on me. My kids dad started bringing my kids to his little church in Clinton when they were small. I was invited to go watch my kids sing at an Easter service. I was in a BAD place in my head. Not making the best decisions and heading down a road that could have been such a disaster. But when the words came out of his mouth it was like God was speaking directly to me! I cried at every service I went to that day and every one after that. God worked through this man to SAVE MY LIFE! And then he did it AGAIN after I went through all my brain surgeries and illness after! THIS MAN WAS A LIVING ANGEL! He will be missed by so many and it’s so sad we had to say goodbye to him on this earth but I know he’s up in heaven with God the happiest he’s ever been! He always talked about how AWESOME heaven will be and now he’s home with our Heavenly Father! I can honestly say I loved this man as my pastor and as a friend! I hope he now knows the HUGE impact he had on me as well as SOOOO many others! Rip Edward Barrus until we meet again in heaven!

My wife and I want share our deepest sympathy to Betty and the entire Barrus family. I want to say thank you to a great man of God for his many years of service to the King of Kings. He will always be remembered as a man who served God to his greatest capacity with love and devotion. Ed Barrus was an inspiration to me in my early years as a Christian, as I observed how he served God, and the energy and enthusiasm he brought to each ministry he was a part of. I often thought I wanted to be just like him starting out as a young Christian. He will be greatly missed by all that had the privilege to serve under him as our Pastor, and to know him as a friend. See you in glory Bro. Ed.

I am so thankful I had the privilege of knowing your dad, and that Steve and I were prompted to go visit with him and your mom the Monday before he entered the hospital for his final time. What a wonderful visit we had! Once again, he shared stories about how the Lord had worked in his life and how He provided for the family in miraculous ways. He always gave the glory to God!! We know he is experiencing so much JOY right now, and we are thankful his struggle has ended, but we will miss him. Our prayer is that all of you are resting in the peace and comfort of our Lord!

God gave us a gift when he led Pastor Barrus to join our church (New Heights Baptist Church, Wylie TX) this past year and let us get to know one of his choice servants. One Sunday, we were able to hear him preach God’s word and hear how God used him and his family in such a mighty way in the Northeast US when he said yes to the Lord Jesus Christ. God blessed his steps of faith along this earthly path. He was always full of laughter and joy of the Lord and always showed his love to his wife, family and to all generations in our church. Thank you Lord for sharing Pastor Ed Barrus with us for a small time and we know one day we will serve with him again in Your Kingdom. God Bless the Barrus family during this time of loss and may the trail of God’s faith that Pastor Barrus left in many lives continue to give glory to God unto our Lord’s return.

Ed, as well as, his wife, Betty are wonderful people. They reared godly children who continue to love the Lord. Ed was friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor. He had so much energy and was always telling others about Jesus and their need for him in their lives. He lived what he preached. He is absent from us, but he is forever with our loving Savior, never more to hurt. Praise God.
